On the 17th October the Kington Great War Commemoration Group invited the High Sheriff to a talk given by Professor Jack Spence OBE entitled War versus Diplomacy. This was the launch of the Kington Remembers series of talks and lectures. The launch was very well attended and the talk fascinating. Professor Spence is Professor in the department of war studies at Kings College, London. He was therefore well place to give an in depth analysis of some of the failures of diplomacy leading up to World War 1.
