On Tuesday 11th March 2014, Bob and Bea visited the Kington Police Station. They were met by Sergeant Colin Smith who took them around the station and introduced them to staff. Sergeant Smith explained to Bob and Bea the vast physical area of responsibility which rural police stations cover. They then sat down with PCSO Dick Allford, PCSO David Boden and Constable Jo Ellis who talked about how modern policing operates, especially regarding the relationships they have within the community, with the emphasis on crime prevention.
PC Allford showed Bob and Bea security camera equipment which is being operated in some rural counties in the UK and is being recommended for Herefordshire.
They were impressed by the hard work and dedication of all the staff and greatly enjoyed their visit, especially the delicious cake made for them by Mrs Jill Allford!
