By 2013 Bob Tabor
On Wednesday 29th January 2014 Bob visited ABT Products Ltd in Ross-on-Wye. The visit was organised by Chloe Hignett and Bob was met by the CEO, Mark Hignett and Directors Tim Morris and Stephen Cheshire. Bob was shown round the design, purchasing and project departments before being given a tour of the factory to see the products being manufacture. He was impressed by yet another highly focussed and successful Herefordshire business producing high quality products.
ABT batch manufacture cabs, roll bars, chassis and safety structures for some of the world’s largest OEMs including JCB, Linde, Multidrive, Valmar, Thwaites and Terex. They are the European manufacturer of Trimax mowers. They also manufacture the chassis for the new Morgan Sports Car and they manufacture the Loadmac forklift truck, a versatile product. Bob was given an impressive display of its capability by Mark Hignett. The company was started 42 years ago by Anthony Beech-Thomas and at one time held a Royal Warrant for manufacturing cattle feeding equipment. In 2011 the business was acquired by the present Board. They employ 80 staff and it is a company offering many opportunities to local people.
