By 2014 Major Patrick Darling

On 7th November the High Sheriff attended the celebration of Achievement at the Royal National College for the Blind in Venns Lane, Hereford as guest of Sheila Tallon, the Principal and Professor Tamar Thompson OBE, the Chairman.  Certificates were presented by the President of RNC the Hon. Mrs White.  Sir Philip Craven, MBE , President of the IPC was the guest speaker.  David Scott proposed a vote of thanks to him and George Woodland closed the prize giving with a vote of thanks and some very witty remarks in his capacity as Chairman of the Student Representative Group.  There was a live feed of music from the Chapel during the prize giving which was impressive to say the least.

At the close of the ceremony the students and guests were invited to tea and cake in the Bistro where the High Sheriff met and was entertained by a number of the students. This was a deeply impressive occasion and the excellence of the college is something of which Hereford should be proud.
