*UPDATE*
WE RAISED OVER WELL £10,000 at our Seven High Sheriffs and a Bishop #TheBigSleepIn.
On Friday 28th May I managed to persuade the last four High Sheriffs and the two ‘in-wating’ to join me for a #TheBigSleepIn in aid of the The Cart Shed in a field looking onto an orchard and a field of blackcurrants. The Bishop and his lovely Deborah came too! What a Posse!
Sadly the weather was not as we would have liked – the drizzle came down, and the weather became worse and worse as the night went on. But at least it was warm! We mostly slept under big canvas but three slept on and under cardboard boxes and got quite wet. The ground was hard, the weather warm but very damp, the fire crackled, the Country Casserole went down a storm, the night was very short but not that sweet!
The Posse survived and we are all humbled by your enormous generosity in donations. Still counting but it’s looking like BIG sum for the Cart Shed and the Herefordshire Community Foundation. Thanks also to the The Country Food Trust – delicious casserole.
Three cheers to my Whittern Farm staff for putting up the canvas, Edward Bulmer for lending Paul Lewis Butchers for the yummy bacon, Noke Lane Bakery for the delicious ciabatta, and of course to the whole Posse for turning out. I promise I won’t ask you again.
If you would still like to donate we would really appreciate it. https://www.herefordshirecf.org/the-big-sleep-in/
