Bob and Bea were privileged to attend the Herefordshire Local Policing Area’s Award Ceremony held at the Assembly Rooms in the Town Hall in Hereford on Thursday 3rd October. Hosted by Superintendent Ivan Powell and attended by the Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire Sir John Foley and mayors from around the county, it was a marvellous celebration of heroism and community spirit.
Bob presented the High Sheriff’s Award to Mr Dan Guerche and Dr David Marshall for setting up the Bottletop HAND Alcohol Awareness and Diversion Scheme. Bottletop works with young people modifying anti-social and offending behaviour at night-time as a result of alcohol.
Bob also presented the High Sheriff’s Award to Ms Angela Marston and Mr Tom Foster. They risked personal injury and helped foil an armed burglary, ensuring that the perpetrator was disarmed and held until the police arrived.
The evening was summed up by Assistant Police and Crime Commissioner, Mr Barrie Sheldon who congratulated the Award winners and said how nice it was to see the new cadets who had only joined three weeks before.
