Hereford Walking Festival 2021
Walking with Watkins. In May 1904 members of the Woolhope Club, led by Alfred Watkins (he of ley-lines fame) walked from Lyonshall Church to Almeley Vicarage where the Woolhope club took tea that day. Organised and run by the brilliant local historian Joe Kerr here accompanied by a lovely group of walkers. These walkers here are perhaps more sensibly dressed than those back in the day who would have been in starched shirts and Edwardian suits.
Having twisted ankle I sadly couldn’t go too but Liz Hill – organiser and brains behind the Festival and I were the “send off committee”to the intrepid Watkins/Woolhope followers!
