Diocesan Service of Farewell for Bishop Anthony Priddis and Mrs Kathy Priddis

Bob and Bea attended the Diocesan Service of Farewell for Bishop Anthony Priddis and Mrs Kathy Priddis on Saturday 7th September at Hereford Cathedral. The Cathedral was full and both Bob and Bea were struck by the overwhelming feeling of affection for Bishop Anthony and his wife Kathy which was felt throughout the church. Also attending the service were the Mayor and Mayoress of Hereford, the Speaker of Shropshire Council and the Chairman of Herefordshire Council, the High Sheriff of Shropshire and the Lord-Lieutenants of Herefordshire and Shropshire as well as Church representatives from both Herefordshire and Shropshire and members of the Chapter of Hereford Cathedral.
The service, led by The Very Rev Michael Tavinor, Dean of Hereford Cathedral, was beautiful and very moving with magnificent singing from the Hereford Cathedral Choir. Prayers of Intercession were read by the Rev Simon Cawdell, Canon Rosemary Lording, Mr John Clark, Mrs Melanie Harris and Frau Ursula Kohler of the Hereford / Nurnberg Partnership Link. Bishop Anthony gave a wonderful sermon and was presented with gifts of an apple tree, a stone birdbath carved by one of the resident Cathedral Masons and an Icon.
Bob and Bea wish him well for the future.
