Visit of HRH The Earl of Wessex

On Friday 12th July Bob and Bea were present for the visit to Hereford of HRH The Earl of Wessex. HRH visited the Hereford Academy where he was presented to the Principal John Sheppard by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire The Countess of Darnley JP. He was then shown round different departments of the Academy and he unveiled a virtual plaque in front of the assembled school. Before leaving he was presented with an oil painting of the head of a Hereford bull by the Head Boy and Girl.
HRH then went on to The South Wye Regeneration Project at The Oval, Newton Farm and the Hinton Community Centre. He was introduced to the volunteers and local community representatives and he went to the boxing gymnasium where Vince McNally thanked him for his visit and presented him with some clothes for his children.
HRH then enjoyed lunch at The Kindle Centre and followed this with a visit to KGD Industrial Services where he was shown round by Chief Executive Ken Davies. He was introduced to members of the workforce and shown the processes used by the company in making complex and very high quality installations for various projects around the world. HRH unveiled a plaque commemorating his visit using a gantry chain.
