Annual Meeting of Herefordshire Council

Bob attended the Annual Meeting of Herefordshire Council at the Shire Hall, Hereford on Friday 24th May.  At the Meeting Councillor Olwyn Barnett was re-elected as Chairman of Herefordshire Council and Councillor Chris Chappell was elected as Vice Chairman.  The new Leader of the Council was named as Councillor Tony Johnson.  TheMeeting and lunch was attended by HM Lord Lieutenant  of Herefordshire, The Countess of Darnley and other distinguished guests.

Following the meeting the inaugural Herefordshire Diamond County Award was presented.  The four finalists were Caplor Energy in Fownhope, Cargill in Hereford, Kingspan near Shobdon and Walford Timber near Ross-on-Wye.  The overall winner of the Award was Cargill and each of the other finalists were presented with certificates.

There was also a presentation made to Miss June Griffiths, a retired Parish Clerk in recognition of her long service to St Weonards Parish Council.

The Meeting and Awards presentation was followed by lunch at the Assembly Hall in the Town Hall.

The Meeting and lunch was attended by HM Lord Lieutenant  of Herefordshire, The Countess of Darnley and other distinguished guests.
