CRIME PREVENTION FORUM LAUNCH – THURSDAY 29TH JANUARY 2015
30/01/2015
By 2014 Major Patrick Darling
As a sequitur of the Rural Crime Launch in May, the High Sheriff chaired the first of five Rural and Business Communities Crime Prevention Forums. The event was well attended and presentations on rural crime and it’s prevention were made by Barry Sheldon, (Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner), Superintendent Sue Thomas, Inspector Bob Barnett, Detective Sergeant Andy Bennett, Special Constable Dick Alford, Charles Naylor and Paul Deneen. Julian Partridge County Chairman of the NFU along with Matthew Price of the NFU Mutual, who is co-ordinating the ‘Stop that Thief’ initiative. The update on rural crime was extremely positive as was the result of various crime prevention activities on which the meeting was briefed. It is very encouraging to feel that rural policing in Herefordshire is being accorded such high priority by both the Police and the PCC.
After the meeting over drinks and coffee the attendees discussed policing matters with those assembled and the local policing teams.
