WEST MIDLAND REGIONAL HIGH SHERIFF MEETING – 8TH SEPTEMBER 2014

The West Midlands High Sheriff Meeting was held at The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.  It was rewarding to meet the High Sheriffs in Nomination, to hear presentations from the Chief Constable of Staffordshire, HH Judge Eades, the Governor of HMP Featherstone, and the Chairman of Staffordshire community foundation.  Serving High sheriffs from the region then presented on their experiences in Office.  Afterwards I visited The Light Dragoons Tree which is a rather scrawny Rowan.  It is a great relief to hear that this has since been augmented by a very fitting memorial to the Light Dragoons and their antecedent Regiments.
